I've verified the permissions on the oab.xml file on the Exchange server, verified permissions in IIS 6.0 and things look OK. I've tried my credentials, domain admin credentials, and nothing but http 401.1. I've tried various browsers and they all prompt for credentials. The only thing is that this path will not load the XML in a web browser. Running test autodiscover shows the proper OAB path. IIS Logs on the Exchange 2007 server indicate hits on the oab.xml file with a status code of 200 0 0. You can cancel it, but it never downloads the OAB. On computers experiencing this problem when you go to Send / Receive tab > Send/Receive Groups > Download address book, the task just hangs there forever. Some initial investigation resulted in pointing the finger at the offline address book. I noticed that a new email address was not showing up in the global address list in Outlook 2010 for a few executives.
